The Cast and Their Great Performances
The actors did a fantastic job. Leo Vance plays the role of Ben. He makes Ben feel like a real person. He is not a typical action hero. He is just a regular guy who is very scared. You can feel his worry in every scene. His face shows so much fear and hope. I think he gave the best performance of his life in this film.
Clara Diaz plays Maya, Ben's sister. She brings a lot of energy to the screen. Maya is brave and smart. She helps Ben when he wants to give up. Their chemistry is wonderful. They feel like brother and sister. They argue sometimes, but they clearly care about each other a lot.
The bad guy is played by Marcus Stone. He is a boss at a big tech firm. He wants to get the code so he can make a lot of money. Marcus Stone plays the role with a cold, quiet anger. He does not yell. He just looks at people with scary eyes. He makes a great villain for this kind of story.
Even the minor actors do a good job. They help make the world of the movie feel real. You care about what happens to the people in the city. That is very important for a disaster movie.
Excellent Direction and Cool Visuals
Sam Miller directed this movie. He is known for making movies that look beautiful and move fast. In this film, he uses a lot of dark colors. The city looks wet and cold. This matches the mood of the story very well. The camera work is very smooth. There are some long shots that show the big city from high up. It looks amazing.
The music is also very good. It is mostly electronic music that feels like a heartbeat. It gets faster when the action starts. It really helps to build the tension. I found myself holding my breath during some of the chase scenes because of the music.

Also, the ending happens very fast. The ending felt a bit rushed. I wish they had spent a little more time showing what happens to the characters after the big event. But these are small complaints. They did not ruin my enjoyment of the film.
